This calculator uses the Karvonen formula to calculate the target heart rate. It requires the user to input their age. The formula calculates the maximum heart rate and heart rate reserve, which are then used to calculate the target heart rate for each of the five zones: Very Light Warm Up Zone, Light Fat Burn Zone, Moderate Aerobic Zone, Hard Anaerobic Zone, and Maximum VO2 Max Zone. The recommended heart rates for each zone are displayed on the page after the user submits the form.
